If you're looking for a reason to give this holiday season, consider giving to a community foundation.
That's what the Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan is doing this week in honor of Community Foundation Week, MLive.com reports.
"There is a tangible impact that can be seen in the lives of the people community foundations serve," says CFNEM Executive Director Patrick Heraghty.
"We are more determined than ever to bring our community partners together to address pressing needs in our communities."
The foundation has awarded more than $51 million in grants over the years, and it's working with other foundations bordering Lake Huron to improve and ensure the health of the lake, which affects so much of our daily lives.
