Thirteen schools from around Kentucky get Teaching Art Together grants from Arts Council

Recently several schools in the Commonwealth of Kentucky received grants from a program called Teaching Art Together. The grants were applied for in an effort to provide an once in a lifetime for the children. The money will be applied towards further the art departments. While some schools will receive greater assistance a total of thirteen schools will be granted finical aid. The schools were required to apply by April 15,2016 for the Fall of 2016.

Students at Wellington Elementary School in particular are going to get to meet and work with a profession in the theater arena. Susan Pope will be teaching a full-time two week course for the students attending school in Lexington. Taking part in this program will offer students to opportunity to read and work on preparing scripts. They will be able to develop props and familiarize themselves with working terminology of the theater arts.
