The 7th Asian Venture Philanthropy Network Conference gathered together various organizations, including SDI Academy and Allied World Healthcare.
Held at Suntec Convention Centre last June 25-28, the conference startup participants, SDI Academy and Allied World Healthcare, both delivered their thoughts and ideas at a Business Times Singapore interview.
Both startups are social enterprises and by Singtel under the social innovation programme, Singtel Future Makers.
Allied World Healthcare (AWH) delivers health care services to rural areas in the Philippines and Cambodia with their technology platforms while SDI Academy offers a curriculum through the form of an English guidebook, mentorship and holding training classes for migrant workers in Singapore.
According to Andrew Buay, Singtel's vice-president of group sustainability, said that the Singtel Future Makers programme will build support for the social enterprise ecosystem, and add value to these startups to help them grow and scale.
