Elias Barriga started his own research group in 2019 with a Ph.D.
in Molecular Biosciences, and now he's a member of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory's Young Investigators program, EurekAlert reports.
"Being, now, selected to be part of the EMBO-YIP network will provide the researcher support to conduct research achievements within developing PI tissues robustly behave in a multi-cue environment," Barriga says in a press release.
"In addition, this network will allow Elias to consolidate his group by exploring how his findings can shed lights on how cancer cells integrate multiple inputs into cellular responses."
Barriga is one of 10 new young investigators to receive a two-year, $140,000 grant to study in the EMBO-YIP program, the Guardian reports.
The program's goal is to help the next generation of scientists "make lifelong connections within a supportive network," EMBO's director says in the press release.
