How we educate our youth is radically changing everyday, but especially so in regards to technology. As advances in computers and networking continue to bridge distances and erase learning gaps, universities are teaming up with entrepreneurs to reach larger audiences than ever before by finding unique ways to expand their reach into underrepresented and nontraditional target demographics.
The nurturing university is an example of this shift; instead of being an institution where the flow of information is only outward, or from the school to the students, a nurturing university seeks to create an environment where that flow goes both ways, empowering every person involved- from students, to teachers, administrative faculty, and so on. Instead of simply educating students, they aim to give students the tools to become strong entrepreneurs and to make differences in our increasingly globalized world.
