ActionAid Nigeria (AAN) has expressed that the Nigeria's National Social Investment Programmes (NSIP) of the Federal Government is working, but needs more room for improvement.
The amount voted for the NSIP is 3 trillion budgeted in three years, but only 298 billion was released. AAN Country Director, Ene Obi, said that the amount should be fully released.
Hajia Aisha Buhari, First Lady of Nigeria and wife to President Muhammadu Buhari, disapproved the programme's implementation, citing it more as a failure.
She said that AAN held quarterly feedback sessions with the National Social Investment Office (NSIO) on findings and suggested how to improve service delivery to the citizens. With the N-Power Programme, "government officials at state levels heading the Places of Primary Assignments/sites generally, confirmed the added value that beneficiaries of the programmes brought to their schools, Primary Healthcare Centres (PHC), agricultural establishments, and offices."
