The Community Foundation of St. Clair County secured tons of timber to be given away.
The timber was removed from an old ferry wall south of the mouth of the Black River. The wall was removed as part of an effort to reconstruct the shoreline. Construction is planned to wrap up by the end of August. The foundation also seeks donations for its River Walk project.
