About Us
Women who are interested in making a difference in the community are encouraged to learn more about the Pee Dee chapter of Women in Philanthropy during a drop-in at the Eastern Carolina Community Foundation's new downtown office.
The group is comprised of strong, caring and focused women who make an annual tax-deductible gift. Women in Philanthropy is a giving circle in which members contribute money that is used to meet needs in the community.

Hexham Social Enterprise Launches Workshop to Provide Training for the Unemployed
A Gilesgate-based shop and community facility, Hexham’s Core Music, launches a separate workshop where up to six people will be trained how to repair guitars and make ukuleles. The European Social Fund grant supported the project and has secured funds through the County Durham Communication Foundation to equip the workshop in Burn Lane.
